Activity:
- Go out of the double doors in the Century of
Flight Hangar and walk to the flags located around the amphitheater.
- Find the percentage of flags with blue.
- Hint: Find the number of blue flags and multiple
by 2 to get number of blue flags in 100 [there are 50 flags] and convert
to a percent.
- Select any flag. Position a meter stick next to
the flag pole. Using another meter stick measure the length of the shadow
of the meter stick. Multiply the length of the shadow of the meter
stick by the height of the meter stick to calculate the SHADOW FACTOR.
Measure the shadow of the flag pole.
- Using the SHADOW FACTOR find the height of the
flag pole.
