Star Power

 

 
Materials:  meter stick, pencil, paper and a  calculator                                           
Activity:

ñ    After you enter to the museum, (1) turn left and follow the road all the way around to the Century of Flight Hangar. (2) Go to the Amphitheatre . It is located in front of the Century of Flight Hangar. It has all fifty flags around it. Walk straight through the theatre pass the flags and you will see a star on the ground in between the Eagle Building (right) and  Hangar One (left). Can you find them?

ø    The last star is the largest star that is around the whole platform embedded in the cement. Do you see it?  It has three stars in the middle of it.

÷     Using the meter stick measure one side of the star embedded in the ground. After you get the measurement, count all the sides and multiply it by the measurement you just took.
