Problem 1:
In the secret garden there is a greenhouse that really needs some new covering. This greenhouse is a half-cylinder and its front is a semi-circle. This greenhouse is divided into 6 sections by metal bars that hold the sheeting up. My group measured the radius of the semi-circle and the length of one of the sections. We didnt have a measuring tape so my group members used their feet. We will call the person who measured the radius person y. and the person who measured the length of the section person x. For one of the sections, person Xs feet fit in there 8.75 times. His foot is 30 cm long. For the radius, person Ys foot fit in there 7.5 times. His foot was 30.5 cm long. Find the surface area of the greenhouse to see how much sheeting is needed.
