The National Math Trail

National Math Trail goes INTER-national

This year, teachers and students around the world will be participating in the INTER- National Math Trail. We are receiving registrations from points far and wide, including Stratford-Upon-Avon, UK; Taiwan; South Australia; Hampshire, UK; Botota - cundinamarca, Colombia; Taipo, Hong Kong; Ontario, Canada; Weybridge, Surrey, UK; Andaman & Nicobar Islands, India; British Columbia, Canada.

And we've only just begun communicating with teachers around the world! As INTER-national teachers register and create Math Trails, we will post their submissions to the site on a map of their respective countries.

Here is a message from Weybridge, Surrey, England from Tamar Attia and her Algebra class:

"I teach at an American school in England. I am doing the project with my Algebra class and we are in progress. There is a forgotten garden on our school grounds enclosed by walls over 200 years old. The garden in now being rejuvenated and that is the source of my class' problems. They are assisting the developers of the garden by figuring how much gravel to lay for paths and what the cost will be, how large a circular grass plot should be if enclosed by a rectangular path, etc. They have finished the initial draft of their problems and are now working with the computer teacher to build a web page to submit their results."

We should be done in a couple of months.

Looking forward to future contact, Tamar Attia
