Pulaski Square is located on Barnard Street, between Harris and Carleton Streets. Nineteen majestic oak trees shade this square. This square was laid out in 1837, and named for the Polish Count Casmir Pulaski. He was a high-ranking officer during the American Revolution, who fought for the Americans. He was killed during the Siege of Savannah. A monument for Count Pulaski is in Monterey Square. The naming of Fort Pulaski also honored him. On the east side of the square is a dormitory for Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). It is also the home of Francis Bartow a confederate hero. It holds a Jewish Educational Alliance building.
