Trailbazing into Technology

by Racquel Skolnik

Many schools now have the equipment and the connectivity to bring technology into the classroom. Gradually, teachers are being trained to use it.

But the next step still needs to be taken - integrating technology into the curriculum. Here is a profile of one project which takes this step, and the teachers who are using it to engage students in learning mathematics.

The National Math Trail is produced by the Foundation for Advancements in Science and Education. Support for the National Math Trail has been provided by the US Department of Education via the Satellite Education Resources Consortium (SERC), NEC Foundation, the Verizon Foundation, and Texas Instruments.

This project report, prepared with support from SERC and NEC Foundation, offers an overview of the project, profiles of participating teachers, and findings from an independent project evaluation by Hezel Associates.

Note:  Parts of this special report were used in an article on the National Math Trail by Education World.
