Mrs. Marcott's kindergarten class - South Hamilton Community Schools

We brainstormed a list of five items we would typically buy at the store, then set out to find them in four different stores.

Each group was responsible for finding the items, writing down the price and then finding the total price at the checkout stand.

When we had all of our data compiled, we brainstormed questions you could answer using the table.

We are the kindergarten students in Mrs. Marcott’s class from South Hamilton Community Schools.  We are located in Jewell, Iowa, which is about 50 miles north of the state capitol, Des Moines.   While most cities or towns have more than one elementary school, we are somewhat unique in that we have one elementary school that serves 4 towns!   We decided that since our students were from different towns, we would do some comparing of the different stores in our towns.

Our table shows the prices of each item at each store, as well as the total cost of the items at each store.   Use the table to answer the 10 questions.
