In 1943, the Watch and Clock Museum was established by a group of
watch collectors. The growing organization elected Earl J. Strickler of Columbia as
secretary in 1952. When the membership got close to 1200 in 1971, the association
purchased a separate building at 514 Poplar Street. The doors opened to the public with an
8,000 square foot gallery in 1977. In 1985-1986 it was made twice the size the existing
exhibit and library space. They remodeled in October 1999. Today it is known as the
largest collection of clocks and watches in North America.
Math Problem
850 people come to see the Watch and Clock Museum every day. So then
how many people would come in 2 weeks and 3 days?
Solution
First find out how many days are in two weeks. Next, add the
number of day in two weeks to the three days. Then multiply 850 by the answer you got from
adding two weeks and three days. Finally you have the answer.
