On road 195, there is a drainage problem. The county graded and cleaned the 8.25-foot wide ditch for one mile. We need to know how much seed and prairie hay it will take to reseed and mulch the ditch to stop future erosion. So, we have one-mile (5280) times an 8.25-foot wide ditch. That equals 43,560 sq. feet. An acre of land is 43,560 sq. feet. If we are to plant 25 lbs. of grass seed per acre we will need 25 lbs. of seed and if we are to mulch two tons of prairie hay per acre you need two tons of prairie hay.
